Flourishing MK - Service Update
Hello and welcome to Flourishing MK, you may know of my counselling practice, or have come across my website for the first time whilst searching for counselling in your local area.
I am a qualified counsellor and qualified in 2018 after studying a diploma in Person Centred counselling. For a brief explanation of person-centred counselling please see https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/types-of-therapy/person-centred-counselling/
A particular area of interest for me is working with clients who have long-term health conditions, particularly chronic pain. I know from lived experience how disabling a chronic illness can be, affecting all areas of your life. I find that this enhances my work with clients - as they feel heard and understood by me, possibly for the first time in their chronic pain journey.
I do work with a range of other client issues, including anxiety and depression, work-related stress, relationship issues, low self-confidence, body image issues, to name a few...
Like many other therapists I have been working online during the COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020 and see clients online via video, or talking on the phone. I am reviewing this regularly and will update my website and Facebook page once face-to-face sessions resume.
2021 is proving to be a very positive year professionally - I have recently taken on new work opportunities to support other counsellors who work with self-harm and suicide and started work as an Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. I am excited about these opportunities and getting to help more people access mental health support.
